Jurisdictions

At Kish & Lietz, we represent individuals and entities in a variety of courts and jurisdictions. Some of our work is in court at the trial level. We also represent our clients if the case goes to an appellate court.

There are two different court systems in our country. The federal courts are created by and generally apply laws passed by the United States Congress. For more information on federal crimes, see our Federal Crimes practice area page. State courts are found in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. For the most part, state court cases involve the laws of that particular state.
