Federal Courts

When a federal criminal case is brought, the first place we generally go is one of the Federal District Courts. These are the "trial courts." If there needs to be an appeal, the case goes up to one of the 11 different United States Courts of Appeal.

Most of our practice is here in the Southeast, although we occasionally take on cases in other parts of the United States. Many of our federal cases are in U.S. District Courts in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Appeals from those districts will go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, located several blocks from our offices here in Atlanta. Below you will find some information that describes some of the federal districts in which we handle cases.
