Florida Federal Courts
Florida also has three federal Districts. The United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida is based in Tallahassee. This District covers a large area, from the federal courthouse in Gainesville all the way to the federal courthouse in Pensacola. A fourth federal courthouse is located in Panama City.
The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida also covers a large area. Federal cases are handled in courthouses in Jacksonville, Ocala, Orlando, Tampa, and Ft. Meyers.
The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida is based in Miami. This District also has courthouses in Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Pierce, West Palm Beach and Key West.
